If you took the time to check today’s national weather, you know that the Midwest is getting drilled by storms. My little neck of the woods, Northern Indiana, is right in Al Roker’s band of nasty weather. I called Stevie Ray Vaughn in to see if he’d be willing to break down the forecast. He obliged.
My initial reaction to these guys was negative due to timing. I noticed them shortly after the White Stripes explosion from a few years back. White Stripes have two members, one on guitar and one on drums. Black Keys have two members, one on guitar and one on drums. Both outfits have a penchant for the blues. One band has white in their name and one has black. That’s about where comparisons end. Truth be told, the Black Keys are nothing like the White Stripes. After I finally listened to them, I had gotten over my negative feelings and decided to love them instead.
I’ll dig up some White Stripes later. For now, dig the Black Keys in Set You Free!
